BioPhoton Therapy

What is Biophoton Therapy?

Biophoton therapy, also known as biophotonic therapy, is a light-based treatment that utilizes specific wavelengths to stimulate the body's natural healing processes. The concept is rooted in the understanding that living cells emit ultra-weak photons, known as biophotons, which are believed to play a role in cellular communication and regulation and overall health.

  • Assess overall holistic health and well-being

  • Identify potential health issues

  • Monitor stress levels and emotional states

  • Track the effects of various therapies and interventions

Historical Foundations of Biophoton Research

The origins of biophoton therapy trace back to the early 20th century when researchers began exploring the interaction between light and biological tissues. In 1923, Emmet Knott developed a method to irradiate blood with ultraviolet light to treat infections, marking one of the earliest applications of light therapy in medicine .

Later, in the 1970s, German biophysicist Fritz-Albert Popp introduced the term "biophotons" to describe the weak light emissions from biological systems, proposing that these photons are involved in cellular communication and regulation.

Dr. Konstantin Korotkov, a professor of physics at St. Petersburg University, has been a prominent figure in the study of biophotons. He developed the Gas Discharge Visualization (GDV) technique, also known as Electrophotonic Imaging (EPI) which captures the light emitted by the human body to assess its energetic state . Building upon this technology, Dr. Korotkov introduced the Bio-Well device, a non-invasive tool that measures the body's energy fields and provides insights into physical and emotional well-being.

Scientific Research Behind Bio-Well GDV Technology

Bio-Well’s Gas Discharge Visualization (GDV) technology is grounded in decades of scientific research, blending physics, biology, and holistic health. Developed by Dr. Konstantin Korotkov, this cutting-edge method measures the body's energy field, providing visual and data-based insights into wellness, stress, and energetic balance.

Researchers worldwide have explored the applications of GDV in health monitoring, emotional states, environmental influences, and more. To explore hundreds of published scientific studies, visit:

As examined in depth in a peer reviewed study published in Global Advances in Health and Medicine November 2015, the authors note "Medicine is in transition. Conventional biomedicine is giving way to an expanded, integrative medical model that emphasizes healthcare as well as illness care, treats people not just diseases, and incorporates multiple therapeutic approaches, old and new, to offer patients greater choice.

This emerging model questions the dominant biomedical paradigm of molecular reductionism that focuses on genes, proteins encoded by genes, and molecules synthesized by proteins and that is based on an inherent belief that complex systems can be understood by identifying their components. By contrast, an integrative model of health and medicine appreciates the complexity of our biology, which can give rise to emergent phenomena that are not, in general, predictive from isolated parts. Such a model also views health-care from several perspectives beyond the molecular approach, including what has been called energy medicine. Advances in biophysics, biology, psychology, and the developing fields of mind-body research such as psychoneuroimmunology and psychosocial genomics have helped substantially to form a foundation for this expanded integrative medical model."

The Bio-Well Energy Diagnostic scans seeks to address and play a vital role in this expanded, integrative medical model to aid with identifying energy imbalances so one might seek to redress it before there is a major negative health occurrance.
